  • How much do your services cost?

The standard fee is $195 per counselling session (means tested), with rebates available from Medicare.

  • Can I claim my therapy on Medicare?

Yes — if you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you can claim a Medicare rebate of $98.95 per session for up to 10 sessions per year. Our standard session fee is $195, which means your out-of-pocket cost is approximately $96.05. We’ll provide everything you need to easily claim your rebate online or in person.

  • Can I claim my using my Private Health Fund?

Yes, we work with most major health funds. Rebates range from $40 – $100, leaving you with just $90-150 out of pocket (means tested).

  • What about privacy and confidentiality?

All counselling services are treated as private and confidential. The information gathered during your sessions is only for assessment, diagnosis and treatment. This helps us provide you with the best possible outcome. As set out by the APS Code of Ethics, limitations to this confidentiality apply if there is an immediate or specified risk of harm to an identifiable person’s safety or if a court of law subpoenas a client’s file.

  • How long is the appointment with the psychologist?

    50-60 minutes.

  • What's the difference between a counsellor, psychologist and a psychiatrist?

A psychiatrist has a medical degree and treats patients primarily with medication.

A psychologist has at least six years of university training to provide empirically validated and proven therapy. They have to be a member of a registration board and continually develop their skills, monitored by that board.

A counsellor does not have a registration board and is not held up to external performance standards. No Medicare rebates are available for a counsellor’s services.

  • Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to book counselling services with us if you pay for the session yourself or claim through your private health fund.
